Normandy

We visited the cemetery today at Normandy. I did not realize that this cemetery is now property of the United States of America. The French government apparently gave us this land to hold our service members. Currently no new Americans can be buried in Normandy. If an American soldier is found the remains will be sent back to the United States of America for the family/government to place in a cemetery. Before we went to the cemetery we visited a D-Day museum which was very moving. There wasn’t a lot of exhibits about the holocaust but it was mentioned and there were a few pictures. The museum was not very big and it seemed to cover the issue very broadly but it was still nice to visit.
